  • Overall Impressions - Additional CommentsEverything seemed decent until we started ordering. We were a party of 7. 6 arrived at the same time, yet we were given 2 menus. We glanced at the drinks section, and decided to order a bottle of a South African red wine (there is only 1 SA wine. The wine selection is pretty diverse. One from each of the "wine regions"). We were told after 10 minutes that they don't have a SINGLE bottle of red wine. We asked for any red wine and they said they don't have any type of red wine. We were disappointed, but got a bottle of a white SA Chardonnay. We got some more menus and after going back and forth between menu selection and buffet selection half of us went for buffet and the other half choose an a la carte. To be honest, the buffet selection was terrible but I could not find anything on the menu that looked good either. I was excited for the chicken light soup though. I went straight to that, opened it and had an instant desire to throw up. The soup smelt of RAW CHICKEN! It was disgusting. I quickly closed it and called the manager there and asked her to smell it. She agreed it was “off”. Out of the 4 buffet folks, one had just dessert, one tried a mix of everything and barely ate anything, one had just potatoes and the vegetable soup and the last had vegetable soup and rice. My sister ordered some kind of pasta, but they did not have it and settled for another type of pasta. Her order took 30 mins which we thought was not bad. An hour and15mins later (so an hour and 45mins after ordering), one steak came out and it was COLD. 20 mins later, the 3rd dish came out. The buffet food was extremely salty. But to be fair, we are not big salt takers so what is normal to someone may be salty to me. The door leading from the buffet area to the terrace seemed to have a problem. This door was squeaky and annoying. Every time someone opened or closed it, I cringed. The last thing was the plates and silverware. I could hear every time someone’s fork touched the plate. It reminded me of cheap ikea plates or the sound of keys scratching a car. Lastly, there was a stack of paper with the names of what I am guessing to be list of companies that have previously reserved our table. Our company name was on top. Not a big deal, but I thought it was tacky. Overall, my experience with guest was terrible.
